This is the reason for the partnership with Fromm Packaging Automation, with headquarters in Switzerland and Italian headquarters in Caprino Veronese, specialising in strapping and film-forming production machinery for any type of product. This cooperation has made it possible to create a new automatic strapping machine for high-performance aluminium rims, where the versatility of Camozzi solutions makes it possible to manage this application to the best of its possibilities.

Need

Due to the instability and variability of the palletised load, there is a need to manage specific variable points of the package with different pressures and at the same time carry out a double strapping. After this operation, a 90° rotation of the pack of rims should be performed to carry out another 2 crossed strapping operations.

The ability to create turnkey solutions complete with mechanical and electrical parts and control software is the winning factor for choosing a supplier like Camozzi.

Solution

To carry out the strapping phases in different positions, one of the 2 machine heads will move between two arcs and thanks to 6 electric Camozzi Series 5E axes, 3 on each side to reduce the overall dimensions, the straps will be inserted inside the pallet.

The choice of the 5E electric axes has made it possible to considerably reduce the overall dimensions and the cycle period, thanks to the increased movement speed and modular management of the acceleration.

These are just two of the parameters constantly monitored by the QSet software designed by Camozzi to manage the configuration of all products for electrical actuation in a simple, fast and extremely flexible way, from axes to electromechanical cylinders.

Results

The complete control of the movement and positioning of the opposing bayonets has also made it possible to optimise the closing of the same, ensuring reliability and accuracy in a very delicate phase of the production cycle.
